(South West Germany)

Image

From Friday May 18 until Monday May 21, 2018 the Club Seventyfive organizes for her members as well as her users a meeting in the Black Forest, in South West Germany.

Central location will be the Best Western Plus Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Durbach.

https://www.bestwestern.de/hotels/Durba ... :gmb:95455

English version: see website above; at the top on the right you can choose a different language.

Programm:

Friday May 18, 2018:
Arrival at ± 16.00 in hotel Vier Jahreszeiten.

Image

Dinner together (buffet or 3 course menu) in the nice and charming restaurant; followed by the annual membership meeting. Only for members; users from http://www.r75.info can already enjoy a drink in the bar.
Open End of the evening.

Saturday May 19, 2018:
After breakfast we will head to the open-air museum Vogtsbauernhof in Gutach (± 28 miles).
http://www.vogtsbauernhof.de/

Image

With around 220,000 visitors last year, this open-air museum is one of the best-visited open-air museums in Germany and a popular attraction in the Black Forest. Since the opening in 1964, more than 16 million people visited the museum.
The Schwarzwälder open-air museum Vogtsbauernhof is intended as a cultural forum for the whole of the Black Forest. Discover the typical Black Forest farms, mills, wood sawmills, rooms and haylofts to find out how people worked and lived during the past 400 years.
From 10:30 am to 11:30 am there is a tour with a consumption directly afterwards.
This refreshment consists of a Bratwurst, liver sausage, blood sausage, bacon and some cheese and is served rustically in one of the farms. A bottle of beer and / or a water for every participant as well.
Duration in total: 120 minutes.

Afterwards we continue to Schramberg (± 16 miles). There we visit three museums:
the Auto and Uhrenmuseum (Car and Clockmuseum), the oldtimer car collection Steim (± 130 cars) and the Diesel Museum.
http://www.auto-und-uhrenwelt.de/de/Home

Image

There is no guided tour; you can determine your own pace.
Exclusive to us, coffee with cake is served in the Diesel Museum (in the old photo studio).
Back in hotel Vier Jahreszeiten dinner (buffet or 3 course menu) in the evening and Open End.

Sunday May 20, 2018:
After breakfast: start at the Durbach hotel at 9 am by bus - at 9:30 am stop at the Kehl station; two guides will join us and we continue to Strasbourg across the ‘Europa‘ bridge directly into the ‘Europaviertel‘ (European quarter) - a global overview of the European institutions - then we drive through the 'Jüdische Viertel' (Jewish quarter), the 'Wilhelmin Viertel` and the `Universitätsviertel zum Mühlen` - recently designated by UNESCO as world heritage and finally the `Gerberviertel`.

Image

We get out of the bus at the `Place Etoile` (square), sanitation stop and issuing of the city maps. Stroll through the city center with stops in the `Rabenhof` and around the cathedral.

Lunch in restaurant `Le Gruber` - `Flammenkuchen‘ with salad. `A tarte flambée‘ is a dish from the Alsace and Baden region. `A tarte flambée‘ has a bottom of thin bread dough sandwiched with crème fraîche, onions and strips of bacon.
Subsequently visit of the inside of the cathedral and afterwards a Canal tour through Strassbourg and on the Ill (duration: 70 minutes).

Image

After that, there is still time left to stroll aound the Centre of Strassbourg on your own.
Return trip by bus for all at approx. 17.30 - arrival in Durbach at 18.00.
Evening dinner (buffet or 3 course menu) in Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten and Open End.

Monday May 21, 2018:
After breakfast check out.
