At the next monthly meet of French Rover club members in early January, I'll raise it up and see if it gains any attention :)
That is, if you guys don't mind doing a meeting with a few 75s (including a rare mk2 75 Tourer with V8 grille, that is rare for the French market), but also P4s, P5s, P6s, SD1s, 800s...

A classic example is the BLMC Rally I have attended for the past 5 years and enjoyed all but 1 when it hissed down all day but we still got good company and a great convoy out of it. I see The Rally is now posted on this forum and I'm sure will be on the owners as in previous years. As Dave said it not about the club its about the people and the cars and not I have a better shine on mine than yours.. I'm sure we can all park together on the day and get what you want out of the day. However you do have to book your site. We booked parking for 25 cars last year and it proved to be a tight fit. A lot of us are members of several MGR forums so I don't see how it matters what forum you are a member off just fit in and enjoy the day.

Would it be worth asking to have two stands side by side and you can park with either as we appear to do at the POL.

You may have noticed I have booked a meet for the motor cycle museum 2nd Feb again I don't give a tinkers cuss what forum folks are from as long as you are supporting our cars=everyone is welcome.

As I stated in the first post I see no reason for the groups to be separated as lots of us are members on more than one forum so I cant see why we cant all park together. We have attended for a number of years now and always made everyone welcome. If you wish to arrange this meet that's fine in preuvious year once the application form is posted on the BMCBL web site we all have to send them back with the cash and the ticket and plaque is returned with your ticket. last year we had parking for 25 cars and it could have done with being more.

Cross club meets

Post Number:#24  Post by squire » January 25th, 2014, 9:17

:prayer: It is surely a passion for the cars regardless of which or how many forums/ clubs you may belong to. I belong to the Morris Minor Owners Club, South Staffs MG Owners Club plus a couple of other local clubs. I can't get to all the events I would like, time and costs prevent that, I'm not really into museums, I go for the social side, although I realise there is a need for other attractions for children/ wives or others not interested in the cars. My personal passion is for Morris Minors but I love my 75 and long for it to become a modern classic. At the end of the day it's meant to going out and enjoying yourself, regardless if you like polished tail pipes or your car is a bit rough round the edges, life's too short not to enjoy. You do what you want to do, it's your choice.
Off my soapbox now,
Kind regards,
Martyn

I'd love to make a cross country meet however I regret the cost of fuel for my thirsty V8 to Fance would hold me back.

It's only money and I can't take it with me when I shuffle off this mortal coil, so I'm up for a meeting in France or Luxembourg or anywhere.
