Looks like the bleed nipple cover

My immediate thought too. It could also be to put inside the place where the pipe is fitted for storage until fitting, but it looks a bit small for that.

If it was intended to fit into a hole it would have a flange on it to stop it going all the way in

Possibly yes, but since the hole has a limited depth..... To be honest I really don't believe it is that, just a substitute cover.

I have sold my little project. Not enough time to do it justice. I am going to view another ZT today, one that needs no work
I need some advice as to the value. It's 2001/2002, ZT 190 , 71K on the clock, belts done, and has a years MOT. Assuming it's in good condition , what's a fair value?
