Sure thing ;)
Stocktech (stocktake) did a how-to on cleaning solenoid contacts on the OC, replacing them with the kit from eBay is obviously the same : http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s ... hp?t=25196
This thread is also of interest on how to remove the starter motor from the car : http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s ... hp?t=87208
Well if you have the Rave documentation or Haynes there's plenty on it as well.

Great work folks!

Out of interest, was there a Canbus fault as such?

Ok she runs...and after leaving her running for an hour she now sounds sweet n smooth! However, when you switch her off the engine runs on for up to a minute before stalling and dying. No sign of any can bus issue now. My suspicion is the smartbox for the towbar as there is water ingress on the rear passenger quarterlight and my betting is that the smartbox is under the interior on that side....also Roland says these frequently can cause bother anyways! The sticky starter seems to have unstuck itself after being given a work out. She is a sweet, smooth, quiet drive now....maybe a bit fluffy (missy?) on the pull-away...not sure yet..but otherwise a really productive day!

if you have water in the rear light the bar stewards have wired it in to the harness out side the car. and bypassed the body grommet.instead of running into the spare wheel well where it supposed to go.remove it.chances are as well thats what caused the bat flattery.stupid bunts

Well there isn't any harness in the rear wheel well!

All the fault codes mentioned earlier in the thread have also returned interestingly!

She is indeed a good motor however and will hopefully be fully sorted this week.

Good news :)

I've got a spare cam sensor if you want it, its the one that uses the separate lead, you're welcome to it, its second hand but works

If it is for a V6 then yes please Simon! Should have a big black rectangular connector on it.

So did I...until I tried a 1.8 cam sensor and the plug didn't fit! Looks like they are different between Mk1 and Mk2 as mine has 3 wires coming off it to a rectangular connecting block. :-(
