chrispy (view post) wrote:Not sure if I ought to have started a new thread...but here you go.....as the new owner of AHA I can assure you it is in safe hands and its future is assured. I've always been a Midsomer fan and have previously owned 4 Rover 75's over the years, but as everyday cars, they don't tick all our family's boxes. This will be a special car, used sparingly, but definitely used, for special occasions and car shows etc. (taking it in turn with my DeLorean).

I am 'handy with the spanners' after a lifetime of tinkering and restoring old cars. AHA has been stood for quite a long time and is in the process of being 'fettled up' by me. Not restored to 'concourse condition'. I do like my cars to be in very good condition, but with their history and battle scars worn with pride .....and kept garaged. This car has History by the bucket full which I shall be putting back and polishing up. I look forward to seeing some of out and about over the coming years.
Chris P in Derby.

This is really goo to hear Chris, and nice that the car is staying in the club!

Got any DeLorean photos to share?

Oh and

Hit "Full Editor and Preview" (Below your post)

Then you'll see "Upload attachment" below the text area. Click this and you'll get "Browse" to find your file off your computer. Then "Add the file(s)". If you hit the + button, you'll get another browse button so you can add a number at a time

Hope this helps!

Ahhhhh, lets give it a go. These my favourite photos, the first one was taken by my local newspaper in 2000, the Derby Telegraph. I then posted a copy to John DeLorean and he returned it signed in 2002. (He passed away in 2005).

The second shows my wife and I when we were invited to display our car at "Buck House" on two occasions, in 2006 and last year in 2016 as part of the Queens birthday celebrations. Representing British built cars in 1981. 8-)

We have many other pictures then over the years...But its not fair to swamp the Rover/MG forum with my other cars picks.

One more Rover one taken this week!

IMG_1911.JPG lots of work done now, fully running and on the road. I have changed the for lights for DTRL ...not everyones choice, but I prefer them. Its nice and tidy underneath now. I must admit, I do like my cars in good nick underneath. (it helps that I have a lift).[attachment=0]IMG_1911.JPG

Sorry..lost the text! As you can see all running nicely now. Ive changed the foglight for DTRL because they make more sense to me. All tidy underneath now. Just the Air-con to sort now and I will be happy.

It is great to see this car looking in such good shape...there were times when we had some serious concerns for its future!

Yes it is in very good shape now, but I've not had much time to use it. I think I always enjoy getting them back to life, more than the driving of them. It was a big job getting the air-con fixed, needing a new evaporator/radiator and compressor. If anyone would like to buy it at cost, I could be tempted to sell. It stands me at about £2.5K now.

I wish I could afford her, but I've spent so much on my 1.8 and its engine woes - is she auto or manual?
