Need to make a phone call. Mines starting to blow badly. A nice quiet exhaust sounds just right.

I had this same chambered box fitted to my CDT a few weeks back and can confirm it is extremely quiet. Longlife measure the noise level before and after and mine got 5dB quieter. I wanted the tailpipe hidden as the original is, so just had a single outlet.

The quality of workmanship at the Oswestry franchise was second to none.

It was only because of the excellent write up in this forum that I was confident enough to go the stainless route, and I'm very glad I did now.

Wanting the same level of refinement as the original, I looked in to alternatives such as OEM. Sadly OEM boxes for diesels are no longer available. It had been suggested to me to get an OEM one for a V6 instead, and I looked in to this, but priced it at £300. Something like £250 for the box and another £50 with all the clamps and brackets, and after that I would have had to fit it myself.

The box pictured cost £225 fitted. The Oswestry Longlife outlet is a BMW specialist with an excellent knowledge of our diesel engines and a real passion for Quality.

Hi everyone,
I have been following this thread since its beginning as my car's box is due to be changed (external skin starting to rust)...
I had my car serviced lately and it passed the MOT equivalent in France with the above advisory only. The garage that serviced my car told me he still sources the OEM boxes from X-Part, the diesel ones being available in stock while the petrol engines ones require some time to be available (usually one to two weeks). I ordered one for my car (2.5 V6) to be ready when I get back to France next time. Sadly I don't have the price at this moment but it should fetch in the 200-250 Euro range.
