A wash and quick detail done today, nearly ready to go. Once this season is completed, I'll look at getting some serious cosmetic work booked.

Pre-Production Rover 75 2.5 Connoisseur - T78 MOA

Post Number:#81  Post by Jake » April 25th, 2014, 8:11

The car has covered 750+ miles this month, including the Anniversary weekend. Considering that the car hadn't covered any miles since 2010, the way that the car has driven can only be described as incredibly impressive.

The V6 soundtrack combined with automatic gearbox, results in such a smooth and refined driving experience, all whilst sat in complete luxury. To anyone who like me, may have driven either MGs or later cars, I cannot recommend at least trying an early car in the V6/Auto configuration.

Interestingly, Richard Woolley instantly recognised T78 MOA as a pre-production car and commented how great the car looked. To me, that alone makes the investment of time and finances in the car worth every penny. :-)

I have to say that this car is the only Mk1 75 I have ever truly coveted... Love the colour, the quality of the build and even the tint of the windows!

I can only but agree with the V6/auto early car configuration ;)
Now regarding Richard Woolley instantly recognising it as preprod...sorry to burst your bubble but I may have something to do with that, as I mentioned your car being preprod to him just as he arrived, couple of minutes before you showed up... :shhh:

I was curious about the window tint, was that standard or aftermarket?

Not quite sure to be honest. I was told by an auto glass technican who came to sort our VW, that it was the best tint he had ever seen and certainly won't have been cheap!

A little bit of an update.

The car will soon be fitted with a new, complete exhaust system in attempts to solve what we believe is a lose baffle and hopefully a trip to the body shop to get a few bits and pieces done. :-)

Regarding the exhaust system, I recently changed the rear silencer on mine, as it was rotten to the core. Went for the OE part from XPart, ordered through my usual garage.
It took 6 weeks to get it in though...seems like they're BTO only now.

This one was from a chap who had parted with the car and had a system spare. It's a klarius back box, however more like the original shape than a lot of after market parts.

Apologies Nicholas, could you clarify on BTO? :-D
