This is a stunner - top spec, has everything available at the time it was built with the possible exceptions of volumentric alarm and Powerfolds (can't tell from pics) and no rain sensor.

Dorchester and Aubergine, one of the best colour combos - but not a 'Jap spec' car.

Even has the mega-rare early Highline Bordmonitor with Rover logo.

Not to mention Traction control, ITS head airbags, sunroof, auto box, powerwash, Personal Line......

I WANT THIS :-D

But time, income and space are all against me. So no.

Seriously, an enthusiast must buy this car (given the price and spec, I'm sure only a R75 enthusiast will).

According to the advert, it does have powerfolds!

It has more gear than mine will have once I've finished adding bits. This really is LOADED and BEAUTIFUL. 8-)

Well, it'd be interesting to know this car's VIN, because as far as I know, the bord monitor with Rover logo was ditched before the start of production. For sure, 100001 at Gaydon does not have the Rover logo on its monitor.
Oh, and it couldn't possibly have the rain sensor option because it was not even available at launch, it was only available from year 2000...
It does have powerfolds though...
Stunning car really...

But the engine is not original and the aircon compressor is shot apparently.

Ah yes, rain sensor came later - so this has every available when built with possible exception of volumetric alarm.

Could be a duff condensor rad, most likely. Remote would probs be the receiver unit.

I didn't think the ITS head airbags were available in UK spec cars until 2004 and the facelift model. I know my Japanese spec Dorchester has them but were they available as an option on UK spec cars.

Yes, they were an option in the UK at about £150 I think.

They became standard for 2005 model year on all models.

Might have been part of the facelift option 'packs' prior to that (in 2004).

First registered 29th March 2000, with black sills... so a very late Cowley one, VIN maybe around the 150000 mark. Lates600 have stamped the service record.

Given the Rover logo Bordmonitor, I wonder if that has been swapped over or if the car is a pre-production model that was registered a lot later on - is there a way to tell?

Mind you, it doesn't have a pre-production HK sub, so maybe it is a swapped monitor.

I have saved all the photos from the eBay listing for my own personal collection, I like it that much :gmc:

Even thinking about the wheels, those are the largest available optional alloy wheels available at the time (Crowns would have been standard), because the 17" styles and the other 16" styles were dealer fit accessories, and were not factory options until 2001. So yet another box ticked on the build sheet.

Well there were only a couple of very early cars in that trim combination. If you look at the photo of the service record... it doesn't seem to be a very low VIN.

But I agree that it seems to be a bit special. The date of first registration is pretty much the time when BMW pulled out, and I thought they had stopped doing the Aubergine Personal Line by then. I wonder whose it was?

Were ZT's ever available in Dorchester? I saw one yesterday which looked like it might have been and it was lovely!

My ZT is frequently in Dorchester . :oops:

ZT could be Baccus, or Dark Fantasy perhaps?

There was a Dorchester/Aubergine car used at an early motor show I remember, perhaps pictures with the Countess of Wessex at the wheel? Just a vague memory. Maybe this car?
