For various reasons, we’ve decided to go down the auction route.
If you are interested, it will be online in a couple of weeks’ time, over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd August.

Here’s the booklet about the Rover 75 2.0 V6 Club SE with some background history. This is not part of the official description for sale - it’s just for general interest.

In the same auction there are a couple of Rover P4s, a couple of P6s, and quite a few other interesting vehicles that you won’t have seen on the roads for a good few years now.
These auctions are quite fun to watch - try not to buy too many!

Picture from the archives of the interior of the R40 Rover 75, as compared with the 1950s version.

Your car has deservedly received a lot of attention on social media and was featured by Practical Classics on their Facebook page, so fingers crossed for a strong performance at auction! :-)

For those who have asked, the car has gone to auction with handbooks, floor mats, and an all weather cover, but not the other bits and bobs.
Just a few days to go now.

Here’s a short video clip of the car, after safe delivery to the auction on the transporter.

The sale starts at 11:00am tomorrow, with Lot 151, so should be quite soon after the start.

If you haven’t watched a car auction online before, it’s quite good fun.

All done, at £2,700 plus auction fees...

Some of the others were:
1964 Rover P4 110 went for £3,750 (No. 205)
1976 Triumph Stag went for £5,750 (No. 213)
1960 Rover P4 100 went for £6,750 (No. 260)
1998 Rover 820 Si went for £3,000 (No. 297) - with full police car markings
Finished off with a 1965 Vanden Plas Princess 4 litre restoration project for just £1,500.

At that, I'm confident it will go to an owner who has cherished the car as much as you have :-)

You can see all of the auction results here.
There were over 300 entries, and some of the results are quite surprising.
Some good bargains, and some pretty high prices as well.

3000E Capri! :o

I had one of those in 1979 and STILL regret selling it! :(

No doubt rose tinted spectacles!
